A Very Tight Spot

When it comes to compact campers, you don’t get much more compact than this week’s van, a VW Caddy camper. This was, without doubt, the smallest vehicle I’ve been in, in my life.

As you’ll see on Sunday, I could barely sleep in it as my feet were touching the driver’s seat, even with it pushed as far forward as it could go. It was a very simple setup that made me realize I was way too tall for this kind of van.

We took it down to the New Forest for the night, which is my absolute favourite place in the UK. Viewers from the Galaxy days will remember I’ve spent many happy nights camping there.

After the trauma of last week’s park-up issues, I was certain we’d have problems this week, especially because there were signs literally everywhere saying no overnight camping. Amazingly we got away with it, which was a result.

Being in such beautiful and memorable surroundings was a great way to end the first season of the new content. Next week I’m back to Mary as I add a few upgrades.
